  • Check-in regularly: “How do you feel about using this tool in our daily scrum?”
  • Opt out: Any team member can request to pause AI-based tools for a session
  • Review quarterly: Is the tool still serving the team’s purpose? Or adding complexity?
Ethical & Psychological Considerations
S.No. Concern How to Mitigate
1 Loss of Psychological Safety - Team members may feel “watched” or “judged” by AI sentiment analysis or transcript tools. Get explicit consent for AI tools. Use anonymous inputs.
2 Reduced Open Communication - Team may censor themselves if AI is analyzing language or tone. Clarify that AI is not used for performance evaluation.
3 Over-automation - Scrum Master may rely too heavily on AI instead of active listening and human facilitation. Use AI for pattern support, not as a replacement for team dialogue.
4 Decreased Team Collaboration - Async updates via bots may lead to disengaged or isolated team members. Balance async check-ins with regular live conversations.
5 Trust in Data Over People - AI-generated blockers or summaries may override lived team experience. Always validate AI insights with team consensus.
6 Privacy and Data Storage - AI tools may store transcripts or emotional data on external servers. Use secure, enterprise-grade tools with proper access controls.
7 Human Touch is Diminished - The warmth of eye contact, humor, or silence may be lost when AI dominates facilitation. Keep the human-to-human tone central, AI is a co-pilot, not the pilot.
